BRANDING SECURITY
We Protect Your Brand – Guaranteed Logo & Brand Compliance. The Mercury team inspects proofs, pre-production and pre-shipping merchandise that ensure brand protection. We also educate the end user regarding all brand guidelines and have an in-house art graphics team to help with all branding initiatives.
Our management team has over 25 years of bespoke (custom) product design. When working directly with our manufacturers, products are tested by independent inspection labs to ensure the following: safety, quality, conformance to customs, social compliance, consumer product safety and government standards.
PRODUCT SAFETY & SECURITY
Protect your brand. At Mercury, we have a proven track record of producing safe, compliant, and socially responsible products. We pre-qualify all our suppliers and only work with those that meet or exceed our stringent quality standards.
The product responsibility pillar of a compliance program focuses on regulatory compliance of the product as well as product safety. Starting with the product concept stage, it is critical to know what the regulations are that product must comply with, and also to assess the product for potential consumer use and functionality issues. The primary requirements and best practices of this pillar are achievable through testing, production controls and knowledge of your product and its material composition. A compliance program often starts with regulatory compliance. With constantly changing regulations, both globally and within the United States, it can be challenging to keep up to date. Regulatory compliance does not necessarily mean that the product is safe for consumer use, and control of manufacturing to ensure consistently compliant products along with actual consumer use considerations are important.
Some products may contain chemicals, identified by the State of California as a cause of cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm at certain exposure levels. Under the California law known as “Prop 65”, certain warnings to consumers in California are required where such products are sold.
Mercury FS will at all times ensure that its website complies with Prop 65.
Prop 65 is an initiative started in 1986 in California that requires the state to provide a list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm, and businesses to notify California consumers if these chemicals are in the products they manufacture or distribute. Businesses could receive a significant fine or face a more serious legal outcome if there is no warning where specific chemicals are sent in their products. The updated list currently populated with about 800 chemicals can be downloaded using this link: https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/. Businesses who work with Mercury FS and sell products in California are encouraged to become familiar with the chemicals found in their products, reference the list and make an educated decision on whether to place the warning on their products or place of business.
It is important that all businesses familiarize themselves with the stipulations of Proposition 65. A warning label is only the first recommended defensive strategy and may not be enough to protect your organization from a violation notice and/or fine. It’s strongly recommended that your firm consult with a legal professional for guidance.
California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has launched it’s new website on Prop 65 at https://www.mercurypromotions.com//p65warnings.ca.gov/. The site is intended to provide the public with information on chemicals and products associated with Prop 65 warnings.
