Capitalize on GE’s Twitter presence and increase the GE Twitter following as a key social media vehicle for communicating with consumers, engaging with the brand, and future re-marketing

Overview

Sweepstakes page on GE Appliances website invites consumers to “Tweet to Enter.” By simply clicking the “Tweet This” button, a GE Appliance message promoting the sweepstakes is re-tweeted from the entrant’s Twitter account to create broad awareness. To participate, all entrants must have a free Twitter account and “Follow” GE Appliances on Twitter. Online registration on the sweeps page is not required and entrants’ information is captured via direct messaging to their Twitter account. Weekly winners of $100 gift cards are randomly selected and announced on Twitter each week, while the Grand Prize winner announced at promotion conclusion receives his/her choice of a new GE Profile oven for their kitchen.
